Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice Summit

FLANP is supporting this event and will participate in a stakeholder panel discussion.

Speakers include Sandy Ryan of Take Care/ Walgreens Clinics, Eileen O'Grady, author and educator and another speaker TBA.

"Removing regulatory barriers for ARNPs in Florida presents an opportunity to reduce health care costs while augmenting the quality and access of health care delivery for all

Floridians.-" stated Tamara Demko the centers executive director.

"The Summit is an ideal forum in which to open discussion and further needed momentum toward reform" Demko added.

Appoints Whittaker

to Advisory BoardAHCA

Board Chair Stan Whittaker has received an appointment to the Agency for Health Care Administration's Medical Care Advisory Board.

Federal Law requires each state to establish a committee to serve in an advisory capacity on issues pertaining to Medicaid. Members may be asked to review or provide input on issues pertaining to Medicaid, including rules and regulations.

Whittaker has worked tirelessly with FLANP's policy committee to review agency rules that negatively impact the ability to provide care to patients. He regularly attend policy meetings at Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to advocate for patients through removal of practice barriers of NPs.
Whittaker is the first NP appointed to this board. FLANP applauds him in his tireless work at AHCA on behalf of NPs. Congratulations Stan!

Policy Committee

Reviews Hundreds of Rules

The FLANP Policy Committee has reviewed hundreds of rules at the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regarding NP practice. They have made dozens of suggestions on ways to improve rule language to better allow NPs to care for patients.
