ARNP Bill Tentatively on Agenda

Next week SB 1352 is tentatively scheduled to be heard in the Health Policy Committee on Tuesday  from 2-5 pm.  It looks strong for us , thanks to Senator Grimsley. It will be the FIRST time that a DEA bill will be put on the agenda in the senate; truly a historic moment for ARNPs in Florida.

SB 1352 has two more stops after next week, Judiciary and then Appropriations.

The ARNP house bill HB 7071 in now in the House Health and Human Services Committee. We do not have an agenda date for this bill yet.

Baker Act Bill Introduced

Rep Campbell introduced HB 829 for ARNPs to be able to Baker Act.  It has already passed two house committees and is now in Health Appropriations. It has not been placed on the agenda yet but if it passes it will go to the house floor for a vote. It has passed unanimously through each committee so far.

The companion bill in the senate is SB 1544. This bill has been hotly contested in the senate for the past two years. We hope to be able to get it passed this year. It has already passed two house committees and is now in Health Appropriations. It has not been placed on the agenda yet but if it passes it will go to the house floor for a vote. It has passed unanimously through each committee so far.

Telemedicine Bill

SB 1646 and HB751 are waiting to be placed on the agenda in their next committees of reference. FLANP is working to educate legislators on the need to include ARNPS in the senate version of the bill
